We value your ("User," "You," or "Your") privacy and recognize the sensitivity of your personal information. We are committed to protecting your personal information and using it only as appropriate to provide you with the best possible service, products, and opportunities, as described in this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy explains the online information practices of Loot Scan (collectively, “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) which hosts the mobile application Loot Scan (collectively, the “Application”). We strictly comply with the applicable data protection laws and regulations. Loot Scan is the data controller for any relevant local legislation.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect and hold personal information related to you that is necessary for the purpose of conducting our business, including (without limitation) to deliver products, services or information, improve our services to offer better experience, and to fulfill our regulatory obligations.

User Profile: Creating a user profile is optional. If you register for a user account, we may collect your e-mail address, username and password. You can also use social media logins. Note that we do not collect information from your social media account.

User Content: We collect user content you create, share, or post to the Application, which may include image files and associated metadata. We store these images on our secure servers to provide you with your personal scanning history. Please do not provide financial account numbers, social security numbers, or sensitive personal information via the Application.

Financial Data: We utilize Apple and Google to process all financial transactions and the Company is not provided with any personal data related to your transaction.

Device Identifiers: We collect information about the device you use to access the Application, including hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers (such as Device ID). This data is used for security, anti-abuse measures, and ensuring the technical performance of our AI scanning services.

3. How Information Is Used

We process your information for support, personalization of AI services, and improving identification accuracy. To perform item identification, we share your image data with Third-Party Artificial Intelligence (AI) providers, including Google. We may also use anonymization to monitor and improve the performance of our algorithms.

Human Review: If a scan is flagged for technical errors or policy violations, the associated image and AI data may be reviewed by our human moderators to improve the Service and ensure compliance with our terms.

4. Cookies & Analytics

We and our service providers use cookies to automatically collect information, measure and analyze how you use the application, and enhance your experience. Google Analytics may collect your IP address and data related to your device/browser to help us improve the Service.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as it is necessary and relevant for our business, considering the type of information and our legal or contractual obligations.

6. Data Rights

You have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of your data. Account Deletion: In accordance with App Store guidelines, you may delete your entire account and all associated scan history at any time through the Application settings. Once deleted, this data cannot be recovered.

Feedback Data: When you submit feedback or support requests, we may collect technical device information (such as OS version and hardware model) to assist in resolving your specific issue.

7. International Transfer

The Application is hosted in the United States. Personal information collected from you will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you acknowledge this transfer.

8. Security

We maintain security standards designed to prevent unauthorized access, including data encryption and firewalls. However, no information security defenses are impenetrable.

9. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16. If we learn of such collection, we will delete the information as soon as possible.
